The first sign of Fall arrived and it was pumpkins as far as the eye could see. Ok let’s be honest Fall arrived and Southern California was in a heatwave. It’s more than likely we even knew Fall was upon us, because Starbucks released their seasonal Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and the days are started getting shorter. Either way its Fall and we’re orange with envy for all the Pumpkin options that are out there.
With that being said I wanted to fill your pumpkin obsession with something other than food (we will save that for another week). Pumpkin is chalk full of so many Vitamins and Nutrients (see below) So without further ado I give you this vitamin enriched Pumpkin Face Mask.
Pumpkin Face Mask:
1 TBS Cooked Pumpkin (you can use the organic canned form)
1 tsp Raw Honey
1 tsp Vitamin E
1 tsp Water
Add the pumpkin and honey to a bowl. I had Vitamin E capsules on hand so I used a safety pin to pierce the capsules and add to the mixed. Add a small amount of water to thin out the solution only slightly. Mix everything together.
Apply to skin and leave on for 10-15 mins. Rinse with a warm wash cloth and repeat as needed to remove all of the mask residue.
I have to say that I was a bit skeptical to make my own face mask, but recognizing all the ingredients as things I keep in my pantry put me at ease and a little curious.
Immediately after I rinsed the mask off, I could tell the moisturizing properties of the Vitamin E were working on my dry skin. While the honey being a natural antibacterial, was helping with some of the red acne spots that have been nagging me. I’m also confident that delicious pumpkin had infused my skin with all the yummy nutrients it needed!
BONUS- pumpkin is really really good for you! Here just 5 ways that having more pumpkin in your life can benefit you.
